A look at the top Florida road trip destinations for Harley-Davidson riders.

So, you’ve been in Miami for the past few months dealing with the holidays, and countless relatives coming into town to escape the cold weather from up north. Now that we’re in February, with amazing weather, let’s take a look at some cities outside of South Florida that would be great road trips on your Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Miami to Tampa Bay
Miles: 281

Riding your Harley-Davidson from Miami to Tampa takes less than five hours. It’s basically a straight shot on I-75, heading west through the Everglades then north past Fort Myers and Sarasota.

Once you and your Harley-Davidson enthusiast crew have arrived in Tampa, you should definitely take a minute to check out Busch Gardens theme park if you’re in the mood for roller coasters. If you’d rather take a more relaxing route, check out the Florida Aquarium that’s home to more than 8,000 marine animals. If you still need your animal fix, take a visit to Safari Wilderness or the Tampa Zoowhere you’ll see everything from elephants to koala bears.

Miami to Orlando
Miles: 236

A bit closer than Tampa, Orlando is about a 3.5 hour drive from Miami. There are endless things to do in the city including world-famous Disney World, Universal Studios, the Kennedy Space Center, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Miami to Palm Beach
Miles: 72 miles

If you’re looking for something closer to home with a ride on your Harley-Davidson of less than 90 minutes, check out Palm Beach. It’s a definite destination if you love golf and are looking for a more laid back and relaxing atmosphere versus the hustle and bustle of Miami. Riverbend Park in Jupiter (a short drive north) is great for kayaking and paddle boarding while taking in the natural sights and sounds.

Miami to Jacksonville
Miles: 346

While a trip to Jacksonville on your Harley-Davidson is about five hours, it’s a great trip for those who want to spend a good amount of time riding without needing to stop overnight. If you’re in season and a football fan, you can check out the Jacksonville Jaguars play or take a public art tour throughout the city. There are also plenty of guided nature walks and kayaking available throughout Jacksonville.

Miami to Key West
Miles: 165 miles

While taking your Harley-Davidson to Key West is only about 165 miles, less than the other destinations on this list, it’s still almost a four-hour ride due to traffic and lack of highways. However, Key West is a destination unto itself. We suggest you spend a night, so you have plenty of time to see everything Key West has to offer from snorkeling and scuba diving to visiting the historic Hemingway Home and Museum. Work up an appetite while taking a jet ski island tour and head to Blue Heaven or The Lobster Shack.
